Patience in Christian Dating

The modern Christian single is in a hurry to get into dating and in marriage. Christian relationship building is a very important process prior and even in marriage. The question that has eluded many Christians who are yet to be married is the question of ‘how long’ prior to starting dating. You might want to get into marriage from your early twenties, but since God has other plans for you, you find yourself drifting along the years as you lay in wait. Having a disastrous marriage coupled by trial and error is what you might have if you rush, because you are young and yet to learn the true demands of commitment.

Prior to entering the Christian dating world, you might be requiring lots of cleaning up and growing up in the faith and since you might be young in the faith, it is only wise to wait. God would like you to be spiritually mature and sinless, and it must be the reason you will be entering the marriage circle later on when God is sure you are ready. You might also lose on the right person to marry if you enter into marriage so fast. The act of patience requires lots of patience, and if you want to have fewer problems, you might as well begin believing God in showing you the right time to get in a relationship.

Luke 1:5-25 sees the Angel Gabriel announcing to Zechariah and his old wife that they will have a baby yet they were past sixty, whom they would name John. Since Zechariah had some trouble in believing it would happen, he asked for a sign that it would happen, mostly because of their age. You have to trust God with your singleness and believe beyond reasonable doubt that he has good plans for your life. Try to surrender your desires and need for a mate to Him, and you will surely begin Christian dating when the time is nigh.

The fact is you need a lot of inspiration for you to believe and lay in wait. Spend your time talking to God about the desires you have and the kind of feelings you wield. It does not matter whether you are frustrated or not, tell it all to the Father, He understands it all. So you should if you are also angry and afraid, open your mouth and tell it all to Him. Lonely feelings have a way of stressing you up, and you have to also make sure He understands. You might want to ask Him to bring a couple of friends in your life to spend some lonely time with. Not all of us are patient, so ask God for this virtue.

If you have already met a person in your Christian dating, patience is also a virtue you have to adore. Rushing it will throw you into deep trouble. Take your time and know the person devoid of any pressure of commitment. Let her or him not pressure or hurry you into a relationship, since if God‘s will is to have you marrying her or him, the person is going nowhere.
